Liturgy in Kanazawa Nov. 24, Monday
Fourteen people celebrated Divine Liturgy in a small room, approximately
50 square meters, of Nadezhda and Anna Oorofs house. Same as the last
year, we brought a movable Altar and an offering table.
Liturgy was small but full of joy, with vivid conversation between the
clergy and the participants. All of the attendants joined singing and fixed
their eyes on what was done on the Altar. One of them said, gEvery time
we experience such a powerful Liturgy without a partition by Iconostasis,
we can sense the true meaning of joy of the Divine Liturgy and the Salvation
of Our Lord Jesus.h
The Cemetery of Russian Captives in 1904-05
.
After the Liturgy, we visited the cemetery of the ten Russian captives
of the Russo-Japanese War. There were nine tomb stones with a cross on
the top and one with the sign of the crescent, who might be a Moslem. We
celebrated a Panichida for them. Those tombs have been taken care of by
the Eurasian Club in Kanazawa.
